Running Around the South Bay
Running around any city has its risks.
We do all we can to keep safety a top priority and supervise the kids with the volunteers that show up.
If parents are at all concerned please join the run and help supervise.
All runners
Must know the 10 Rules of Run Club.
Parents need to complete the registration, and submit a signed waiver before they run.
There is a suggested donation of $20 each year for a club tee.
The 10 Rules
Dress for Run Club: Always wear proper running shoes, a Hb Run Club tee, and shorts. Wearing a bright Hb Run Club tee allows us to keep track of all the runners in a group.
Use a restroom before: Please use a restroom at school before meeting up. If you really have to go, always tell the nearest adult, and take a buddy with you. Never go alone.
Always sign-in, and sign-out: When you arrive, circle your name on the sheet. If it’s not listed, print your first and last name. After the run write how far you went.
Know the course, your distance, and your group: Before we run know where we’re running, the group you’re with, and the adult in charge.
Leave in groups, and run same course: We leave when Annie says, and stay in groups. Everyone runs the same route, no exceptions. This includes no stopping.
Respect other runners: We are a team, and have zero tolerance for any disruptive behavior, or bullying. Runners must listen to volunteers and be respectful.
Run Club, not walk club: Try and run the entire run. If you have gone past the first turn around point and feel like you need to walk then turn around immediately.
Never run alone: We will group up at the beginning, so always keep them within a block and in sight. Always stay with at least one buddy. Group up at key points if needed.
Extra miles on your own time count: We count any miles you run on your own. Parents can email, you can write it next to your name, or tag Annie on Strava.
Friends must be signed-up before running: Friends must have their parent register before they show up. This is for their safety, and so we can get paperwork signed.
Pls pls pls Volunteer
Hb Run Club is a volunteer run group. Parents bring snacks for the kids to enjoy after their run, and we need someone to keep an eye on backpacks. As groups grow we need parents to run with the kids, especially the younger ones.
101 Hoodies
Once a runner totals 101 miles for the year Annie will let the runner know. Parents can then order a hoodie by Venmo'ing Annie and confirming what size their runner would like.
